I Hope Jen Caissie Runs for the Open US Senate Seat

by: JohnBriare

Wed Feb 06, 2013 at 21:29:58 PM EST

(Me too.  Full disclosure: Jen is a distant cousin on my Mother's side. - promoted by Rob "EaBo Clipper" Eno)

It is my sincerest hope that Governor's Council Member - Jen Caissie runs for the open US Senate Seat.

For those who may not know Jen... she embodies the principles of the Republican Party of Lincoln.
She is exactly what our party needs - and what Massachusetts needs - at this moment.

She has the ability to unite concerned working families regardless of their political affiliations.

Keep an open mind - Jen Caissie represents the future of our party.

From her Website:
Accountability on issues that matter to people has always been a priority for me. Public safety has always been important to me, personally and professionally. Protecting the public and ensuring that victims are treated with respect will play an important role in how I vote on the Council. If I am fortunate enough to be elected, as a member of the Governor's Council I will ask judicial candidates the tough questions about their values and beliefs when it comes to public safety and victims' rights. As an Attorney who practices criminal law, and as a special prosecutor and police commissioner, I fully appreciate the need to protect the public and the need for conscientious judges who care about public safety. I am committed to putting the public interest before special interests, and party politics.

Primarily, the Governor's Council approves judges, clerks and votes of commutations and pardons. The Council also undertakes other tasks, but these are the most important. People who know me, know that I am a straight shooter and will vote to approve the best candidates, regardless of their political affiliation, last name or the size of the checks they donated to political candidates. I will ask the tough questions and fight for accountability and transparency on the Council, which means making the confirmation hearings more accessible to the public and looking into a judicial performance review process. I will not be a "good ole boy," or "rubber-stamp" (to which the Council has been recently referred as).

Jennie would be a great candidate! (0.00 / 0)
Principled, hard working, tough, experienced, already well known and elected twice in a district larger than a congressional district, intelligent.

Challenge for ALL candidates will be assembling a team to gather 10K signatures in just a few weeks.

I Got Two Weeks To Give Her! (0.00 / 0)
Only the number is different. I gathered signatures for her last year at this time.

  Happy birthday Rep. Kuros!

Cool! (0.00 / 0)
I really like the idea of a primary with two candidates I support!

When was the last time Massachusetts Republicans had a contested primary where both candidates where AWESOME. I have a feeling we're going to watch Lynch and Markey try to out back room deal each other while Republicans talk about the issues that really matter to voters and the solutions to those problems.

Honestly, I can remember the last time I had such an inner conflict of who I would support in a primary.

Matthew P. Carleo, Yobgoblin

She cannot raise money (0.00 / 0)
Take a pass on her.

The More The Merrier (0.00 / 0)
Great.  It will be interesting to see if all the candidates, or how many, can get the 10,000 signatures.

Shaping up to be a full field sprint which could bring new people to the party and draw interest for other special elections.

being from Oxford --- (5.00 / 1)
I can honestly say she is an all around nice girl/woman who has values, morals and great family support.

She will be a good candidate/senator.

She has my vote!
